if you had to pick 1 song from each album and make a setlist exclusively of the worst jimmy buffett songs what would that setlist look like??

Down to Earth--Pick any song but "Captain and the Kid"

High Cumberland Jubilee--Probably "Death Valley Lives"

White Sport Coat--has to be WDWGDAS

Living & Dying in 3/4 Time--Probably "Brand New Country Star"

A1A--"Dallas"

CILCIA--"Miss You So Badly"

SOASOAS--probably "Fool Button"

Volcano-- tough one, I pretty much like the whole album, but I'm going with "Survive"

Coconut Telegraph--another tough one. I'm going with "The Good Fight"

Somewhere Over China--"Lip Service"

One Particular Harbour--"I Used to Have Money One Time"

Riddles in the Sand--"When the Wild Life Betrays Me"

Last Mango--"Please Bypass this Heart"

Floridays--"You'll Never Work in Dis Bidness Again"

Hot Water--"Baby's Gone Shoppin"

Off to See the Lizard--"Why the Things We Do"

Fruitcakes--"Frenchman For the Night"

Barometer Soup--"Don't Chu Know"

Banana Wind--"Mental Floss"

BHOTM--"Math Suks" (and so does spelling)

FSOTW--"What if the Hokey Pokey..."

License to Chill--"Someone I Used to Love"

Take the Weather With You--"Silver Wings"

I've left out all the live albums, soundtracks and the Christmas album....

Worst set list?

Anyone where Jimmy plays Migration or Wino and I Know....where I am not in attendance. :D

Otherwise, I am always happy to be in attendance.

I used to CRINGE when he played WDWGDAS...til he had a great time in St. Louis this year with getting the sign language translator to really emphasize the word screw. I'll always think of that when he plays it from now on.

Used to not really care for Margaritaville, til I was fortunate enough to be in Anguilla when Jimmy said something like "Well, it's time to plant the flag of Margaritaville here in Anguilla. Today Anguilla is Margaritaville.!" :D
I don't want to live on that kind of island
No, I don't want to swim in a roped off sea.
Too much for me, too much for me
I've got to be where the wind and the water are free.

These are the Jimmy Buffett songs I DO NOT like:

Elvis Imitators
Domino College
I Used To Have Money One Time
Cheeseburger In Paradise
Fool Button
Baby's Gone Shoppin'
Barracuda
Mental Floss
Treetop Flyer
What If the Hokey Pokey Is Really What It's All About
Conchy Tonkin'
Everybody's On the Phone
Wheel Inside the Wheel

All of his other songs I absolutely LOVE.
And considering how many hundreds of songs he's done, the fact that I only dislike 13 of them speaks volumes for what a fantastic songwriter/storyteller I think he is.

Well, as a fellow conservative minded fellow, I would hope you would add Everlasting Moon to that list. That Jimmy is a lousy tree hugging liberal! How I loathe him and his many planes . . .  :pirate:

most songs off the CD actually. Pacing the Cage and Oysters and Pearls excluded.

Altered Boy

Big Rig

And it isn't on any of his albums but Trippin' Billies. WTF, that's just a horrid song. May be the worst piece of s*** I've ever heard him do.

The only problem is that I like EVERY song on that album... so it's hard picking the "worst"...

Fair enough, but I would have little problem putting it ahead of

Lovely Cruise
Biloxi
In the Shelter.

I think it is one of my favorites because on the three song arc on You had to Be There, with Wonder why and landfall, it is my favorite three song arc in the entire Buffett discography.

What's wrong with Mental Floss?

Songs that collectively would ruin any set list
WDWGDAS
Cheeseburger
God's own Drunk
Math Sucks
You'll never work in this bidness again
Glory Days
Dixie Chicken
No Woman No Cry
California Dreamin'
Jailhouse Rock
Rainy Day Woman
Trippin' Billies
Werewolves of London
Any other "tribute" cover.

There are very few JB songs that I don't like
Rub yours on me and I'll rub mine on you

I started to read this list and was ok...then saw one I love, then another, then another!! :o :o :o

Guess maybe I really am into ALL THINGS JIMMY!!

and you forgot to mention that you skipped the soundtrack to the musical!! Some great ones on there too...ones he's done in concert!!

But to each their own...and I agree, it is a tough assignment...don't see me doing it do ya?!?

How can you not LOVE God's Own Drunk especially from YHTBT! He rarely plays it, and I would love to hear it in Chicago.

I agree with most of the choices on this list, but not defeying gravity.

Lets see, COBO was around to make sure Jimmy's old stuff lives on. Is this thread going to turn into a reformed version of the COB where only the good songs live?

I love the old stuff as much as anyone, and I would prefer it if he played more of it, but the new stuff grows on me depending on my mood.

Have a good one!!
I think I'll take my shoes off and go walking
Down beside the Caribbean Sea. . .

Palm Trees and views I can't believe
Why would I ever want to leave?
