Do you think Jimmy will ever play there again if they shut down the tailgate?

Jones Beach Looking To Shut Down Tailgate

Post by speedrack »

FYI....A no tailgating policy has been strictly enforced since the O.A.R. concert there a few weeks ago. A very large fight erupted after the show in the parking lot that night involving teenagers and the police. An inside source tells me they are working on a plan to shut down the Buffett tailgate too. I will post any additional info as I get it.

Why should Jimmy give a s*** about the tailgating? I've been to about a dozen Buffett shows at Jones Beach, I've never seen him in the lot tailgating with the fans. If the promoter comes across with the cash, he'll be there.

A quick look though Google news tells me the police have shut down tailgates for OAR and select other bands, even to the point of not allowing people to stand around their cars and eat sandwiches. These idiot kids may well have screwed it up for all of us.......

He still plays Mountain View and there's no tailgating there.

From what I've heard, there's no tailgating at the Woodlands either. He doesn't play there every year, but he does play there.

Ah Mtn View....Shoreline....been there, done that, bought 2 t-shirts.....but you're right, city ordinance against the tailgate, so there were only a scant few of us.

So YES, I bet he'd play Jones Beach, even if there was no tailgating permitted. And he doesn't seem to play some locations that do permit tailgating......<cough> <cough> denver <cough> <cough>

It's sad when a few idiots have to ruin the party for everyone else.

there was, then this year it was the big party on the lawn across from the theatre. Good music, good company, wrong location in that it was just a way for the Tommy Bahama restaurant to have a monster day

IMHO, there will be no tailgating, for anyone, anywhere, within 5 years.

Tailgate party at Jones Beach???

Post by speedrack »

The tailgate is a very big part of the whole experience. If you can't have a Corona or Margarita in the parking lot and you can't get one in the venue (only in VIP) you might as well go see the Jonas Brothers with your kids. I'm sure he will play there again but, we don't have to like it! :(

I have to disagree. Yes, I would MUCH rather be able to tailgate, but to say you can't have a good time at a Buffett show without alcohol is a little scary to me.... On a number of occasions I haven't had anything to drink in the lot or during the show and I still had an absolutely fantastic time. You actually can have a good time without alcohol.............

The last time Jimmy was in Nashville, there was no tailgating at the venue. And he hasn't been back since. But we did tailgate at the Best Western and there were other tailgates spread around the area. Which was the problem. You had to drive to the other tailgate pods.

I don't recall having any alcohol at the Anguilla show. Wouldn't trade that for any of the day-long tailgates.

Same here. I didn't have any alcohol that day and it's my most memorable JB show.
