Adventure to Antarctica with Jimmy Buffett

Buffett to perform rare Antarctica concert as part of an 11-day musical expedition
December 2 – December 12, 2022

Insider Expeditions, a premier travel company, is excited to announce “Adventure to Antarctica with performances by Jimmy Buffett” a once-in-a-lifetime musical voyage to the far side of the world. Jimmy Buffett and a few of his Coral Reefer friends will participate in a concert expedition to the southernmost seas in early December 2022. Known for being a sailor, captain, and frequent traveler to remote and exotic places around the world, Antarctica is one of the few places still on Jimmy’s bucket list. This is the chance for 150 lucky travelers to check it off theirs, too. Jimmy is donating his time and legendary talent to this experience to help raise funds and awareness for ocean conservation. Omaze, the online fundraising platform, is also giving away two tickets for one winner to join the voyage with a guest. Donations from the experience will support Ocean Conservancy and Singing for Change, working to preserve the world oceans.

The group will meet in stunning Buenos Aires, Argentina, where they will kick off the trip with a one night hotel stay and welcome dinner for all travelers. The next morning a chartered plane will take the group to the Southernmost City in the World, Ushuaia, Argentina, where they will board one of the newest and most luxurious vessels in the polar regions – the World Navigator – and set sail towards Antarctica and the South Shetland Islands. One of the most environmentally friendly ships at sea, the World Navigator employs a clean-burning hybrid, electric-hydro propulsion and an anchorless positioning system. The fans will cruise along ice-filled fjords and among spectacular icebergs in the company of seabirds, penguins, seals, and whales, as well as enjoy expert-led discussions on the wildlife, geology, and conservation of the remarkable region.

Multiple concert experiences are scheduled, including one actually on the seventh continent, which will be one of the very few concerts ever to happen in Antarctica. Jimmy will be joined by 10-time CMA Musician of the Year Mac McAnally and other Coral Reefer friends throughout the voyage. Also scheduled – A Seventh Continent conversation with Jimmy, musical workshops with Coral Reefers, Zodiac landings and excursions around Antarctica, plus plenty of special surprises for the approximately 150 fans lucky enough to join the expedition.

The voyage will support and bring awareness to the important work and mission of several organizations who protect the world’s Oceans and its inhabitants. Ocean Conservancy, who are dedicated to building ocean health and resilience as well as advancing science-based solutions to protect the ocean from today’s greatest global challenges; and, Singing for Change, a non-profit launched by Jimmy in 1995, will direct their funds to Save the Manatee Club and The Everglades Foundation.

This trip is designed and led by Insider Expeditions, a premier travel company that specializes in curating and hosting one-of-a-kind experiences for groups and individuals around the globe, and often raises funds for charities and causes as a part of their programs. Their trips range from educational trips for leading universities, business delegations for Fortune 500 companies, mission-driven expeditions with non-profits, creative brainstorming journeys for entrepreneurs, wellness and yoga retreats, extraordinary family reunions, and musical and sports adventures with celebrities.

  1. Be an amazing wonderful 50th Birthday 🎂 present to me ! 🦩🦩🌴🌴🌴

  2. I support ocean conservation and believe there is global warming. This concert could change the world!

  3. Fins Up Antarctica!!! Pina Coladas with Margaritaville Teq.

    Would love to go

  4. “Twenty degrees and the hockey game’s on. Nobody cares they are way too far gone……”

  5. I would prefer somewhere warm and sunny. Maybe a private island in the Carribbean or South Pacific. Let’s push for a private island concert in 2023.

  6. Over $50,000 and you still have to fly to South America? That’s a lot of moolah.

    1. Hey, Ann!
Re-read the prize details… airfare from your city to Buenos Aires is included!

  7. Read the fine print. Buffett will NOT be a passenger on the ship. He will be on another vessel. He will make special appearances on the 150 passenger “gen pop” boat. Mac will be on the boat full time. Even if I had extra cash lying around, at a minimum of 25K pp, I think not.

  8. Cuervo, 50k for a bucket list? If I had 50k under my bed I sure wouldn’t go to freeze my ass of in Antarctica.

  9. It is over 60k when you add in the international flights that are not included. Way too much for the parrot heads.

  10. December in Antarctica the weather is still very cold and windy and you should expect to stay put on the ship. Crossing the Drake Passage in December could be horrendous with big waves and wind. The changes In latitudes will force you to change your attitude. I have been to Antarctica in December and expected the daily cold rains.

  11. Hmmm. I checked the weather and Antarctica has an average daily high of 27 degrees and low of 5 in December. Where will he play an outdoor concert? Very odd.

    1. He doesn’t (play an outdoor concert).
There’s a theatre on the ship. (Just re-read what the prize includes… and doesn’t)!

  12. Can someone tell me where the concert in Antarctica will be? We talked to the cruise tour company and they didn’t even know?

    1. Concerts/music nights are on the ship, more than likely in the theatre on Deck 4.
There’s only 150 tickets (altogether for the cruise). It’s a small ship.

  13. Read the fine print. Buffett will NOT be a passenger on the ship. He will be on another vessel. He will make special appearances on the 150 passenger “gen pop” boat. Maybe? Mac will be on the boat full time. Even if I had extra cash lying around, at a minimum of 25K pp, I think not.

  14. Way too long for me to go without wearing shorts. More than a week on a boat where the temperatures are below freezing? How about a week on a warm and sunny private island instead.

  15. No, the airfare is NOT included. Probably another $5,000?

And this is on the website:
    Travel insurance (strongly recommended)

That means there is a good chance that Jimmy and the trip will not go.

    Buyer beware.
