Coral Reefer Band

Michael Utley

Michael Utley grew up in Arkansas and was heavily influenced musically by the sounds of Memphis soul and New Orleans rhythm and blues.

Michael is the longest active member of the Coral Reefer Band. He’s been with the band since 1973. Jimmy Buffett first heard Utley playing on one of Jerry Jeff Walker’s albums. He liked what he heard and asked Mike to perform on the album “A White Sport Coat and a Pink Crustacean”.

Mr Utley has produced several of Jimmy Buffett’s recent albums including the album “Take The Weather With You”
